Exclusive: easyMarkets Global Head of PR Niki Nikolaou leaves the firm, founds ContentWorks Agency

“Many brokers deliver stale, copied content to their clients combined with boring RSS feeds on their social channels and that just won’t cut it anymore. CMOs are dealing with poor retention, dwindling web traffic and negative reviews” says Niki Nikolaou

After ten years at easyMarkets (formerly easyForex) in Cyprus, Global Head of Comms & PR Niki Nikolaou has moved on.

Alongside Charlotte Day, who was previously Head of Content at easyMarkets and before that, Head of Social Media Marketing at FXTM, Ms Nikolaou’s newly established venture is called ContentWorks, which is a Cyprus-based content marketing agency that is aimed directly at providing service to CMOs in the FX industry globally.

External content, brand positioning and marketing firms that aim their services at the FX industry are increasing in number, with Ashley Jessen’s Profile Booster being one example, Mr Jessen having authored several CFD and FX related publications as well as held senior marketing positions at renowned firms, including Invast Global.

Another example is MediaGroup Worldwide, run by Bart Burggraaf and Morten Fillipsen, both experienced marketers, with Mr Burggraaf having worked at Saxo Bank and Citigroup, and Mr Fillipsen at Saxo Bank before founding Juno Markets in 2014 before leaving in 2016 to join MediaGroup Worldwide.

Commencing business this week, ContentWorks, based in Limassol, reiterates that line of thinking.

Ms. Nikolaou stated today “Brokers today know that great content marketing is integral to their success. They also know that it is really difficult to achieve it in a fast-moving financial environment. They love the fact that Contentworks can write press releases, log in and blog for them, provide daily analysis, write emails, deliver eBooks and handle social media updates.”

Joining easyMarkets (then easyForex) in September 2007, Ms Nikolaou began her tenure in Marketing and Communications before moving to become Regional Marketing Manager for Europe in October 2011.

From August 2012 until her departure this week, Ms Nikolaou was Global Head of Comms & PR, representing her final position in ten years at the firm.

Educated at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, Ms Nikolaou has a BA in Psychology and Theater & Film.
