British CFD and spread betting company AFX Capital has opened an office in Lexington Avenue, New York and is ready to take on the domestic US market.

Today in New York, FinanceFeeds met with Tom O’Reilly, Senior Vice President of Sales, who confirmed the expansion of the company onto the other side of the Atlantic from its native UK.

Mr. O’Reilly is a very well known industry figure, having spent twelve years at FXDD in New York before taking his part in establishing AFX Capital’s new stateside operations.

With a series of institutional positions behind him, Mr. O’Reilly was Liquidity Manager at EBS between 1997 and 2003, as well as having been VP at Lasser Marshall for fifteen years from 1982 to 1997.

Dating back over thirty years, Mr. O’Reilly was VP at Charles Fulton Eurolink for three years, preceded by his tenure as a Currency Broker at Noonan Astley & Pearce in 1978.

Mr. O’Reilly began his career in FX in 1976 after graduating from Hofstra University with a BBS in Marketing in 1975.
