The FX industry is one particular business which, despite the motivation of many executives to climb the corporate ladder by spending an average of two years at a company before moving on, has a very high retention rate among senior executives. Not to put too fine a point on it, us FX professionals are generally committed and enjoy this industry and whilst regularly switching company, often stay in the business long term.
For Michael Simpson, however, a diversion from the FX industry beckoned as he has been appointed Bank Operations Manager at HealthEquity, a company which helps American citizens manage their healthcare savings and assists employers in managing benefit costs.
Mr. Simpson had spent eight years at Interbank FX (latterly IBFX), the North American subsidiary of Japanese electronic trading giant MONEX Group, where he worked in Trade Operations between May 2006 and December 2014, before joining Capital Fund Law Group as Compliance Officer in January this year.
A resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Simpson began his career in financial services at American Express Financial Advisors in May 2000 as a Mutual Fund Transaction Agent, and has an interest in trading the FX market himself.
