Technology-led North American multi-asset electronic trading company OANDA has appointed Javier Martell to oversee global legal functions as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

In keeping with OANDA Corporation’s highly concentrated emphasis on technological prowess, Mr. Martell joins the company from mobile payment service Boku, a firm well recognized for its modernity and understanding of FinTech in a cross-border environment.

Martell most recently led the legal, compliance and human resources functions for Boku, Inc., amid the direct carrier billing mobile payment service’s expansion across 65 countries. After graduation from The University of Chicago Law School, Javier began his career at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP (formerly Pillsbury Madison & Sutro) and later served as General Counsel for a number of technology companies including mFoundry Inc. and RedSpark, Inc..
