Adroit strengthens multi-asset front office O/EMS by connecting to Coinbase Prime

Rick Steves

Founded in 2014, Adroid offers a multi-asset front office O/EMS solution designed from the ground up to handle the intricacies of trading complex assets, including OTC derivatives, bonds, and FX.

Adroit Trading Technologies has connected with Coinbase Prime to provide clients the ability to access Coinbase Prime’s trading platform with access to over 140 crypto assets, alongside global fixed income, currency, and commodities markets.

The connection is live, integrated via API, and available to all Adroit EMS clients with Coinbase Prime accounts. The move aims to strengthen Adroit’s position as a leading trading system for institutional OTC investors.

Adroid integrates Coinbase’s broad and deep crypto liquidity

Greg Azrak, Head of Business Development at Adroit, said: “Digital currency is increasingly part of the mainstream conversation, and Coinbase is a clear leader in this space. The order book protocol fits seamlessly with our best-in-class FICC EMS and allows institutional investors to see streams, take liquidity, and leave orders. We are excited to integrate Coinbase’s broad and deep crypto liquidity to further unlock cross-product execution for our mutual clients.”

Brett Tejpaul, Head of Coinbase Institutional, commented: “A key part of our strategy is to enable trading access to institutional clients from their existing technology solutions. Integrating with Adroit as a premier cross-asset solution helps us with distribution to the largest institutional investors, and furthers adoption of the crypto market as a whole.”

Founded in 2014, Adroid offers a multi-asset front office O/EMS solution designed from the ground up to handle the intricacies of trading complex assets, including OTC derivatives, bonds, and FX.

The platform aims to maximize trader productivity, minimize transaction costs, highlight market opportunities, and ensure trading compliance.

Coinbase Prime broadened derivatives capabilities by partnering with Marex

In late 2021, Marex Solutions and Coinbase Prime partnered to broaden both firms’ institutional digital hedging and crypto investment capabilities.

Marex’s expertise in building derivative solutions and Coinbase’s crypto custody, liquidity and prime services banded together to expand their respective crypto product offerings, a broader universe of structured products based on crypto underlyings for institutional clients.

The agency-only model adopted by Coinbase Prime suits Marex Solutions’ Derivatives Engine, allowing for multi-venue liquidity and best execution, enabling attractive pricing and reliable secondary market liquidity.

Marex Solutions offers a broad range of products within a wide list of crypto-underlyings, either in a securitised or in an Over-the-Counter (OTC) format. It already has several innovations in the crypto market, including the first ever autocallable on a crypto currency and the first ever securitised cash and carry trade on bitcoin.
