Advantage Futures names industry veteran Carlos Rodriguez its new CFO

Carlos Rodriguez brings more than two decades of industry experience to Advantage Futures.

US futures broker Advantage Futures has announced the appointment of Carlos Rodriguez as its Chief Financial Officer. Mr Rodriguez is an industry veteran, bringing with him more than two decades of experience in the sector.

In an announcement about the appointment, Advantage specifies that Mr Rodriguez will oversee all accounting and treasury functions at the firm and that he will report directly to Advantage’s CEO Joe Guinan.

Prior to Advantage, Mr Rodriguez worked for CME Group Inc (NASDAQ:CME) for nearly 21 years, most recently serving as Executive Director in CME Group’s Financial and Regulatory Surveillance Department.

With Mr Rodriguez joining the team, Advantage now employs four former exchange auditors among its staff.

Joe Guinan, Advantage Futures’ CEO, said:

“Two decades of regulatory experience coupled with his even-keeled managerial style make Carlos an enormous asset to our firm. He’s a home-run for Advantage and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

Mr. Rodriguez commented on his appointment:

Mr. Rodriguez holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Earlier this month, Advantage marked the start of its 15th year as a futures broker. And in April this year, the company said its client funds had reached an all-time high exceeding $700 million. Advantage and its nearly 100 employees have processed over 3.7 billion contracts since the founding of the business on June 2, 2003.

The firm offers electronic trading access to major futures exchanges across the globe. Advantage Futures is a full clearing member of the CME Group (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX, KCBOT), NFX (Nasdaq Futures Exchange), ICE Futures U.S., ICE Clear U.S., ICE Futures Europe, ICE Clear Europe, Options Clearing Corp., CBOE Futures Exchange and Dubai Mercantile Exchange as well as a foreign approved participant of the Montréal Exchange and non-clearing member of EUREX. Advantage also secures trading access to major Asia-Pacific exchanges through a number of correspondent broker relationships.
