Core has introduced a pioneering wallet creation method, offering users the ability to generate wallets and multi-chain seed phrases using their Gmail accounts, without compromising on security or custody aspects.
This innovation allows Core users to bypass traditional seed phrases, utilizing familiar Web2 methods like Gmail and Apple logins for key generation and management.
Accessibility without sacrificing security
This first-of-its-kind wallet experience, designed for the Avalanche ecosystem and beyond, features universal seed abstraction. It’s not confined to specific blockchains or Virtual Machines (VMs). Users can employ Core-generated seeds across various blockchains, from Bitcoin to Ethereum Virtual Machines (EVMs), streamlining the process without the hassles of multiple contracts or cross-chain complications.
Core’s Seed Abstraction stands out for its ease of cross-chain usage, contrasting with ERC-4337 (account abstraction), which limits users to EVM chains and has deployment-based restrictions. Core’s solution allows users to transact across multiple environments, including Bitcoin, Avalanche C, X, P-Chains, and any EVM, with enhanced confidence and security.
At the heart of Core’s system lies Cubist’s CubeSigner non-custodial signing service. This service enables secure social logins and manages keys within secure hardware. Core remotely generates keys and signs transactions from within CubeSigner’s secure hardware, ensuring private keys remain private. When transactions are signed, advanced encryption methods and a secure enclave are employed to safeguard raw private keys.
Access to a Core account requires both login details and a physical authentication device, significantly reducing risks like phishing and unauthorized access. CubeSigner’s protocol for exporting keys incorporates additional steps and waiting periods, offering protection against threats like SIM swapping and ensuring only legitimate owners can export their keys.
