Australia unveiling new law to decimate smaller FX firms

Beeks Group has extended its Asia-Pacific presence with access to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), more specifically its colocation services into the Australian Liquidity Centre (ALC).

Securing a presence in the Australian Liquidity Centre (ALC) will result in direct market access and low latency cloud services.

The Australian Liquidity Centre is the only data center developed specifically for financial markets in Australia and is the fabric that brings together a diverse community of counterparties, the firm said, stating the importance of gaining access to the ALC as the colocation facility creates unique opportunities for customers.

Adam Bradley, General Manager and Head of Sales for ASX Tech & Data, said: “The ALC is the technological heart of Australia’s financial markets and we are delighted that Beeks has extended their global platform directly into our ecosystem.

“The entry of Beeks provides further options for our international and domestic customers who require private cloud services, built for the exacting requirements of financial markets firms. Regardless of which liquidity venue access is required for, the barriers of entry into Australian financial markets continue to be reduced by these types of collaborations.

“Once locally connected within the ALC or over ASX Net, new and existing customers can also gain access to ASX DataSphere for enhanced historical data offerings. We look forward to working with Beeks to support and create value for our customers”, Mr. Bradley added.

Gordon MacArthur, CEO at Beeks Group, said: “We pride ourselves in being able to react quickly to client demands, and as a result, we have rolled out a range of cloud services within the ALC data center that will allow our clients to plug into the fabric of Australian financial markets,” explains.

“As part of our growth strategy we’ll continue to explore new markets to expand our global presence and we’re really looking forward to growing our partnership with ASX.”

Beeks holds infrastructure in a growing global network of data centers. These allow direct, secure access to key financial hubs and exchange locations.

Beeks’ on-demand low-latency financial cloud infrastructure serves capital markets across the Americas including Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore).

Beeks has recently launched Proximity Cloud, a fully configured, pre-installed physical trading environment that is optimized for low latency trading conditions.

The new fully-managed and configurable compute, storage, and analytics rack service introduces the ability to run a private cloud infrastructure on-premise.

Supporting Unicast and Multicast datasets, the platform can be deployed on customer sites anywhere in the world. Proximity Cloud has grown out of the knowledge, expertise, and experience of exclusively supporting financial trading companies.
