Bjorn Enqvist Advanced Markets / Fortex

Today marks the beginning of a new era for a very familiar face within the global FX industry, Bjorn Enqvist, who has left his position at Finance Magnates and joined institutional prime brokerage and liquidity provider Advanced Markets and its associated technology provider, Fortex.

Following a 17 year career as a professional footballer which spanned across many European countries, beginning in his native Sweden, he then moved to England in 1995 where he played for Crystal Palace FC, then aged 17.

In 1997, Mr. Enqvist transferred to Malmo FF in Sweden, and took part in the UEFA Cup in 1998. A brief spell in Finland at VPS Vassa preceded his signing for Athens-based Apollon Athinon, and after a stint at Panahaiki in 2004, he moved to Cyprus in January 2009 where he signed for Nea Salamina before founding Q-Evolution, a global football network.

Indeed, Mr. Enqvist’s arrival in Cyprus paved the way for his career as a central figure in the FX industry, when he joined ConversionPros as Assistant Coordinator in April 2012, responsible for the hosting of the largest and most successful B2B FX industry events in the world under the iFXEXPO brand, alongside Forex Magnates (Now Finance Magnates).

iFXEXPO became so efficient and successful, that the entire FX industry has been attracted to its events in Cyprus and Hong Kong, from all across the globe, and across all sectors of the industry, marking ConversionPros out as the benchmark FX events organizer worldwide.

Concurrent to assisting in the organization of the iFXEXPO events, Mr. Enqvist also was responsible for sales, until leaving the company in April 2015 for Finance Magnates. Across both of these positions,  Mr. Enqvist managed the successful and renowned FM Directory for Finance Magnates and ConversionPros, before taking on his managing position as Head of Finance Magnates Cyprus.

Mr. Enqvist’s vast network and highly personable demeanour was very well aligned with Finance Magnates and ConversionPros media and events combination.

Today, Mr. Enqvist begins the next stage in his career at Advanced Markets & Fortex, reporting to Natallia Hunik, Global Head of Sales.
