BTIG taps Tanya Williams to lead macro strategy amid inflation and war

Tanya Williams’ work will be more critical than ever amid looming inflation and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

BTIG has appointed Tanya Williams, CFA, as a Managing Director and Director of Macro Markets Strategy as part of the brokerage firm’s hiring spree.

BTIG’s Research and Strategy team of 30 senior analysts specializes in the consumer, energy and infrastructure, financials, healthcare, real estate and technology sectors, thus providing micro and macro strategy and insights on more than 400 companies.

Tanya Williams will provide top-down analysis of macroeconomic drivers including inflation, labor, supply chains, geopolitical affairs, as well as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Current macroeconomic issues

Williams joins BTIG from Fieldpoint Private Bank & Trust, where she served as Managing Director and Head of Manager Research. Previously, she was a Senior Consulting Principal at NexTier Consulting Solutions.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Williams was a Managing Director and Head of Equity and Real Assets Research, and a Portfolio Manager within Guggenheim Investment Advisors at Guggenheim Partners. She began her career at Brinson Partners, where she developed a strong foundation in global capital markets.

BTIG has announced several appointments in recent weeks, including Steve Marchini, Pavi Sidhu, and Bradford Ainslie.

Steve Marchini was appointed Managing Director of its Electronic Trading Sales division, where he will focus on proprietary trading technology to help clients monitor performance, manage costs and make informed trading decisions.

Pavi Sidhu was named Managing Director within its Equities division, based in the prime broker’s London office, and with the mission to expand the EMEA Portfolio Trading and ETF businesses.

Bradford Ainslie was hired as Managing Director within its Institutional Equities business to increase the client reach of BTIG and expand the ability of the firm to source liquidity.
