Sheena Kanabar joins Capital.com after ADSS and CMC Markets

Sheena Kanabar brings extensive experience in the global brokerage sector, with a proven track record of effectively managing teams and achieving business success while upholding regulatory compliance.

Before joining Capital.com, Sheena served as Group Chief Compliance Officer at ADSS, where she played a pivotal role in developing and implementing the company’s global compliance strategy. Her career also includes over 11 years at CMC Markets, where she held various senior compliance positions, including Head of Compliance for the UK and Europe.

Her professional career includes steering businesses through periods of intense regulatory and political change, given the notable impact of both the ESMA retail client product intervention and Brexit on European brokerage firms.

As a compliance expert within the CFD industry, namely at CMC Markets and ADSS, she has maintained an excellent relationship and dialogue with the FCA and European regulators throughout and effectively advised the boards of evolving risks and requirements.

Peter Hetherington, Group CEO, Capital.com Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sheena to our leadership team. In addition to working closely with regulators worldwide and fostering a strong culture of compliance throughout the organisation, Sheena’s expertise will be instrumental in helping us drive growth in-step with the highest regulatory standards.”

Sheena’s appointment comes in the wake of robust client growth across Capital.com’s global business. In 2022, client trading volumes surged by more than 90% compared to the previous year, solidifying Capital.com’s position as one of the fastest-growing trading platforms in the industry. This impressive growth earned the platform the top spot on the 2023 Deloitte Middle East & Cyprus Technology Fast 50 List.
