Multi-licensed online brokerage group Capital.com has appointed Greg Adams, who spent the bulk of his two-decade career at IG Group, as its newest head of risk.

Adams will be responsible for implementing and overseeing Capital.com’s risk management and compliance functions. His appointment reflects the increasing demand from FX brokers for risk management services that optimises governance, identify cost efficiencies, and enable risk-based decision making.

In his new role, he will work with the executive team with responsibility for administering Capital.com’s risk management framework including the exposure management and capital modelling functions across the group. With nearly 19 years of experience, he joins in a key senior management role, bringing a hands-on approach to international risk management.

Adams has just ended a 17-year tenure with the UK online investment broker IG Group. He joined Europe’s biggest spread better as a credit risk analyst in 2006 and stayed there until he left his most recent position as head of risk assurance.

Capital.com is a mobile CFD-focused brokerage firm which is operated by Capital Com SV Investments Limited, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

Also, the firm says that its apps leverage advanced artificial intelligence technologies to deliver trading-related content in a personalized way. Additionally, Capital.com’s team is planning to roll out more advanced new AI features in the near future. T

The company has also announced a long-time partnership with FX technology company, Integral to use its cloud-based FX workflow automation technology. Capital.com will also benefit from connectivity to Integral’s low-latency market data, greater access to multi-asset liquidity sources, and advanced price distribution functionality.

In May, the group encompassing Capital.com, Currency.com, and the upcoming Shares.com, has appointed Peter Hetherington as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Jonathan Squires, who resigned earlier this year after a phenomenal growth phase.

Capital.com also appointed Christopher Brankin as CEO of its Singapore operations. Before that, he spent fourteen years at TD Ameritrade, where he climbed through the ranks from Divisional Operations Manager until he was appointed CEO and executive director. Brankin parted ways with the firm two years after Charles Schwab closed its $22 billion acquisition of TD Ameritrade, and the latter’s retail FX business rebranded as the company streamlines operations.
