Gain Capital's Peter Quick buys $280,000 of stock

Gain Capital Holdings Inc (NYSE:GCAP) Chairman of the Board of Directors Peter Quick has purchased 40,000 units of Class A common stock in the company, for a price of $7.0219 per share, in three separate transactions on March 18, 2016.

Reported by GAIN Capital to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday, this now takes Mr. Quick’s shareholding up to 139,525 units of Class A common stock, 109,525 of which are directly owned by Mr. Quick, 10,000 of which are indirectly owned by the IRA, and 20,000 indirectly owned by Family LLC.

At today’s values, Mr. Quick’s total portfolio of GAIN Capital shares is worth approximately $886,000, the share price now resting at $6.35 per share, slightly lower than the price paid by Mr. Quick last week.

Mr. Quick joined GAIN Capital’s board as Chairman in December 2010 following five previous years as a member of the board, and has substantial institutional experience.

Mr. Quick has acted as a private investor managing a diversified portfolio of public and private investments throughout important parts of his career, with institutional board-level appointments including his standing as president and member of the board of governors of the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) between 2000 and 2005, preceded by a long term leadership position at discount brokerage firm Quick & Reilly between 1983 and 2000.

In addition to his position as Chairman of the Board at GAIN Capital, Mr. Quick also serves as a member of the board of directors of Medicure, Inc., a publicly held pharmaceutical company, the board of governors of St. Francis Hospital and Good Shepherd Hospice and the board of directors of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia.
