Cboe unveils schedule for Disaster Recovery data center migration for C2 Options and CFE

Maria Nikolova

In July 2020 the Disaster Recovery environments for C2 Options Exchange and Cboe Futures Exchange will be relocated.

Cboe Global Markets has earlier today elaborated on the schedule of the planned Disaster Recovery data center migration for C2 Options Exchange and Cboe Futures Exchange (CFE).

As previously announced, Cboe plans to move out of 400 S. La Salle in Chicago over the next two years. In preparation for this move, the company advises that in July 2020 the Disaster Recovery (DR) environments for C2 Options and CFE will be relocated from 400 S. La Salle (Chicago) to reside at 350 Cermak (Chicago) with Cboe’s other equities and options DR platforms.

This July 2020 data center migration will be seamless and will require no customer updates. Target network addresses and ports will not be modified and firm connectivity to the DR environments will continue to be supported from both 350 Cermak and 400 S. La Salle at this time.

The schedule for the July 2020 migration is as follows:

  • Saturday, July 18, 2020: Customer Functional Weekend Testing Opportunity of New C2 DR Environment;
  • Monday, July 20, 2020: New C2 DR Environment Live in 350 Cermak;
  • Saturday, July 25, 2020: Customer Functional Weekend Testing Opportunity of New CFE DR Environment;
  • Sunday, July 26, 2020: New CFE DR Environment Live in 350 Cermak.

Let’s recall that, in September, Cboe Global Markets announced plans to move its global headquarters in Chicago. Cboe also unveiled plans to move its trading floor, which includes trading pits for S&P 500 Index (SPX) options and Cboe Volatility Index (VIX) options. The historic CBOT Building was Cboe’s first trading floor home when it was founded in 1973. The new Cboe trading floor build-out will occupy the same area that housed Cboe trading pits in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, until Cboe moved to its current headquarters at 400 S. LaSalle Street in 1984.
