Chris Soutar leaves 360T to join blockchain firm Talos
Talos, a provider of technology infrastructure for of crypto trading, has augmented its business with the appointment of Chris Soutar as its sales director.
The move was made public on his LinkedIn profile, which shows that he joined the company this month and is based in London.
Chris Soutar joins the blockchain firm coming from 360T, Deutsche Börse Group’s affiliated FX trading venue, where he was part of its global foreign exchange (FX) sales.
Launched in August 2019, the Talos platform delivers a suite of solutions across spot, futures, and FX markets.
Talos provides an institutional-grade technology infrastructure that supports the full lifecycle of digital assets trading, from price discovery to execution through to settlement. The platform connects a diverse group of participants involved in today’s crypto-asset market structure – institutional investors, prime brokers, exchanges, OTC desks, lenders, and custodians – through a single point of entry.
Engineered by a team with experience in building institutional trading systems, Talos will leverage Soutar’s experience as it aims to streamline the entire trading process, eliminate unnecessary intermediary risk, and provide institutions a clear path to best execution.
Soutar joined 360T in May 2022 from Deutsche Börse’s derivatives-focused exchange Eurex, where he worked in institutional forex sales from September 2019 until May 2022 – just under three years.
At Eurex, he helped unify the FX sales team globally and reviewed its currency product suite as it builds out a full-service FX platform to improve client experience. At the time, Deutsche Börse was extending its market data offering to the FX market, helping close a gap in the market for swap data and also demonstrating the synergies it created together with 360T.
Soutar landed at Eurex after nearly two years with Investec, an international specialist banking and asset management group, where he oversaw the company’s FX sales. Prior to this, he spent four years at State Street’s foreign exchange (FX) business, Currenex, from 2014 to 2017.
With around ten years’ experience working in FX, Chris has also held several senior roles at different financial institutions including FCA-regulated online FX and CFD broker FIXI plc.
