Christoforos Soutzis has been promoted to Group Chief Risk Officer at capital.com. In the new role, he will be responsible for the Risk, Trading, and Dealing teams across the globe. The firm has offices in the UK, Cyprus, and Belarus.

Mr. Soutzis was promoted from Head of Risk Management, a position he held for nearly four and half years which was based in Cyprus. Throughout that period, he would advise on business processes and operational risk and establish and quantify the company’s risk appetite.

He was also expected to ensure that risk-taking was aligned with the risk appetite, business strategy, and capital in place, as well as identify, analyze and assess current and emerging risks.

The CFA Level 2 Candidate would also monitor the company’s credit and market exposures, design and back-test optimal hedging strategies, design and implement an appropriate risk management framework, and monitor and report on the company’s capital adequacy ratio.

The Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), regulatory reporting to authorities, risk reporting for different audiences (board of directors, department managers), were also under his responsibilities.

Prior to capital.com, Mr. Soutzis held a number of positions at Iron FX for nearly three years total, including Risk Manager, Portfolio Management Officer, and Dealer.

Capital.com is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), under register number 793714. It also holds a CySEC license, which grants the broker an EU passport. In addition, the firm is regulated by National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

FinanceFeeds has most recently reported on Stathis Flangofas’ departure to SquaredFinancial. He was the Chief Financial Officer for both capital.com and currency.com, a regulated tokenized securities exchange.

At Capital.com, Mr. Flangofas led the group’s financial planning, including managing Cash Flows and ensuring funds availability, Cysec & FCA reporting, monitoring the daily client funds reconciliation, and developing the yearly Business plan.
