Deutsche Bank, the worlds second largest interbank FX dealer by market share, has appointed Florian Drinhausen as Head of Corporate Governance, superseding Daniela Weber Ray on April 1 this year.

At a time during which Deutsche Bank’s flagging corporate performance has been the subject of not only very serious boardroom discussions but has also attracted the attention of Germany’s finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble who issued a statement about the company’s financial position recently, the position at the top of the corporate governance division is no easy task.

Originally appointed to the role of General Counsel for the EMEA region at Deutsche Bank, Dr. Drinhausen’s promotion came two years later.

An honorary Professor at Germany’s EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, Dr. Drinhausen has an extensive legal career behind him. Before spending 13 year at Linklaters as a partner, Mr. Drinhausen was an associate at Henegeler Mueler for almost 5 years, joining the firm in 1997.

Educated at University of Cologne with a degree in law, Dr. Drinhausen graduated in 1993, before studying his second degree at the same university, graduating in 1994 with a doctorate in law. Following that, Dr. Drinhausen gained his Masters degree at London School of Economics and Political Science with an LLM (Master of Laws) in 1994.
