“I gravitated towards Equiti because I saw an honest and forward-thinking company which puts relationships and a client’s trust in a broker first and foremost.”

Equiti Group has appointed Benjamin Susanna as Head of Client Retention, where he will be in charge of developing region specific engagement initiatives that will help clients understand Equiti’s competitive offering and what makes Equiti a broker of choice.

Benjamin Susanna joins Equiti from OANDA, where he was in charge of Sales and Retention in the UK and European markets for nearly six years. There, he led cross-regional teams to achieve successful client acquisition and retention.

Client retention experience in the most competitive markets

Brian Myers, CEO of Equiti Brokerage and Head of Africa region for Equiti Group, commented: “Equiti Group’s commitment to give best-in-breed customer service to our clients has led to record group trading volumes in 2021.

“Benjamin’s experience in client retention across some of the most competitive markets around the world will ensure our clients continue to have an exceptional experience with us this year and beyond.”

The new Head of Client Retention at Equiti Group will leverage the company’s Global Market Research, Data Science, and Regional Client Service department’s data and findings to develop a deep understanding of Equiti’s clients.

That way, Equiti will be able to continue to deliver an attentive and superior service mostly associated with private banks and boutique brokers.

A broker that truly cares

Benjamin Susanna, Global Head of Client Retention, said: “I gravitated towards Equiti because I saw an honest and forward-thinking company which puts relationships and a client’s trust in a broker first and foremost. My biggest motivation for joining Equiti is engaging clients with a broker that truly cares and deserves their business.”

“Every client is highly valued at Equiti and I’m very excited at the opportunity to develop a client engagement and retention strategy that will allow our clients to feel like a VIP. In today’s global environment, traders are spoilt for choice with the large number of global brokers to choose from, with most offering similar products and services, but very few, if any, can compare to Equiti’s extensive range of client communication channels, and its dedication to client service.”

The hiring of Benjamin Susanna follows the recent appointment of Gaurang Desai as Managing Director of Strategy, bringing more than 25 years of experience working across financial exchanges, market infrastructures, and with regulators.

According to Desai’s LinkedIn profile, he will leverage the learnings of the pandemic and eye FY2022 and beyond as the most important years for rolling out dApps as well as products/services delivery models using blockchain and smart contracts across geographies.

FIA urges CFTC to regulate use cases rather than AI itself

“We urge the CFTC to refrain from crafting new regulations that generally regulate AI because this approach presents certain well-known pitfalls. By approaching the issue from the perspective of AI as a technology, rather than the use case for the technology, corresponding regulations would likely necessitate a definition of AI. We anticipate that any attempt to properly define AI would be very challenging and require considerable resources.”
