eToro and Premiership Rugby announce new sponsorship deal

Israeli social trading and multi-asset brokerage company eToro has struck yet another sponsorship deal, this time with England’s top-flight rugby union competition, Premiership Rugby.

The partnership is set to start at the beginning of the 2023-24 season. As part of the deal, eToro will enjoy a wide-ranging set of benefits, including prominent in-stadium branding assets at all Premiership Rugby matches and on-screen graphics during broadcasts with ITV, a major broadcasting partner.

Premiership Rugby has a longstanding history, dating back to its inception in 1987. Over the years, it has garnered a vast international viewership, spanning over 150 million households in 135 diverse territories.

As part of its sponsorship package, eToro will gain visibility through a range of marketing channels that will see it provide bibs to thousands of players via the Premiership Rugby leagues. The Israeli trading network has also obtained access to a range of joint initiatives to promote its brand across matches up and down the UK.

Mark Brittain, Chief Commercial Officer at Premiership Rugby said: “eToro has a proven commitment to sports sponsorship and we are thrilled to begin this relationship with one of the leading trading platforms. This partnership will see Premiership Rugby reach exciting new audiences as our league continues to attract the next generation of fans to our sport.”

Stephanie Wilks-Wiffen, Director of Marketing at eToro added: “eToro has been built on its community of investors and rugby is a sport with community at its heart. This natural synergy makes it a perfect partnership for us as we look to build on the sports sponsorship presence we’ve already established across European club football and international rugby. Working with such a prestigious and high profile partner as Premiership Rugby means more exposure and hopefully, greater participation for both parties.”

Premiership Rugby, also referred to as the Gallagher Premiership for sponsorship purposes, is the leading professional rugby union competition in England. It comprises a total of 10 clubs and holds the status of being the highest tier within the English rugby union system. The league showcases top-level rugby talent and is widely recognized for its competitiveness and high-quality matches. With a rich history and a strong following, Premiership Rugby holds a prominent position in the English sporting landscape.

eToro boasts an extensive global sponsorship portfolio including six Premier League clubs and six Bundesliga clubs in Germany as well as top ten tennis player Gael Monfils. Amid increased competition from its rivals, the company has established a unique selling proposition to enhance brand visibility and cultivate customer loyalty.

By adopting an “always on” aggregation model, the FX and crypto platform secured significant exposure during match days in prominent European leagues, notably the highly popular Premier League with its annual viewership of 3.2 billion.

eToro made headlines earlier this year when it partnered with Twitter to enable its users to view market charts and access real-time information about stocks, cryptocurrencies, and other financial assets.
