Every little helps! Former Tesco senior executive Rebecca Shelley to lead Tullett Prebon’s global corporate affairs

Having reported to the CEO of British supermarket giant Tesco for four years, Rebecca Shelley re-enters the institutional financial sector in London, joining interdealer broker Tullett Prebon as Global Head of Corporate Affairs.

After four years away from London’s financial giants, Rebecca Shelley rejoins the City’s financial sector, having been appointed Global Head of Corporate Affairs at voice and electronic interdealer broker Tullett Prebon.

Ms. Shelley joins Tullett Prebon this week from British supermarket giant Tesco, where she spent almost four years as Corporate Affairs Director, reporting to the CEO of the company.

At Tesco, Ms. Shelley was a member of the Executive Committee and responsible for corporate reputation and communications strategy, with responsibility toward investor relations for two of her four year tenure.

Before joining Tesco at senior executive level, Ms. Shelley was a partner at corporate relations specialist Brunswick LLP for four years between 2007 and 2012, where she advised a wide range of companies on financial and corporate reputation issues, as well as provided strategic advice to Chairmen, CEOs and Boards. One of the partners heading the Financial Institutions Group.

Between 2005 and 2007, Ms. Shelley was Group Communications Director at Prudential Plc, one of Britain’s largest life assurance companies.

Having been at Prudential for a total of seven years, Ms. Shelley began in 2000 as Investor Relations Director before being promoted to Group Communications Director in 2005.

At the end of the 1990s, Ms. Shelley was IR and Corporate Communications Director at East Anglian insurance giant Norwich Union Plc, her first executive position since completing an MBA at Cass Business School in 1992.

Ms. Shelley was educated at the University of Warwick, and holds a BA Hons in Philosophy and Literature, from which she graduated in 1987.
