After almost 8 years as Executive Director and Head of EMEA FX Sales at Morgan Stanley, Guy Hopkins, a very senior institutional FX executive has joined MahiFX in London.
MahiFX, which has its origins in New Zealand, has appointed Mr. Hopkins as Head of MFX Vector Sales, thus placing him in charge of the firm’s execution management system which allows investors to take control of their execution, identifying and minimising their trading costs using MahiFX’s unique market making technology.
Before joining Morgan Stanley in May 2008, Mr. Hopkins spent over 5 years at Bloomberg as Head of FX Electronic Trading for the EMEA region, based in London.
This represents very much a major step for MahiFX, as Mr. Hopkins’ senior level institutional experience as a result of long ternures within two of the most prominent firms in the FX industry.
Mr. Hopkins was educated at University of Durham, St John’s College and has an alma mater in Psychology, specialising in Neuropsychology & Psychopharmacology, having graduated with a 1st Class Honours qualification in 1997.
