Exclusive: Sucden FX mainstays Michael Bleys and David Fowler leave the company
Renowned institutional FX figures Michael Bleys and David Fowler have left Sucden Financial, representing another series of quality alumni moving on to pastures new from one of the world’s oldest non-bank eFX liquidity providers
Within London’s very established institutional eFX desks, corporate moves are relatively rare, however this week, two very well renowned industry executives have sought their path toward pastures new.
Sucden Financial, one of the world’s oldest electronic FX liquidity providers, has waved goodbye to Michael Bleys and David Fowler, both of whom cleared their desk at 30 Fenchurch Street for the last time on Friday last week.
Michael Bleys, a global industry professional with four fluent languages, joined Sucden Financial in December 2012 from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in London, where he was VP FX and Derivatives.
His Tier 1 bank prime brokerage expertise provided a very good fit for Sucden Financial, leading to five and a half years at the firm.
Prior to joining Barclays FX and Derivatives division, Mr Bleys was Sales Trading Manager at Saxo Bank, spending time during his five year tenure between London and the company’s head office in Copenhagen.
A year at Ernst & Young as a Financial Auditor preceded his foray into the world of institutional FX following his graduation from the London School of Economics with a Master of Science degree in European Political Economy, forming the culmination of his tertiary education following a previous Masters degree at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and a Batchelor of Science degree from the same university a year prior.
In this particular exit, Sucden Financial eFX Account Manager David Fowler joins Mr Bleys, with Mr Fowler having accepted a position at electronic trading technology and liquidity provider Edgwater Markets in London.
Sucden Financial has a very good reputation for retaining high quality industry professionals for long periods of time.
In 2015, Wayne Roworth became Co-Head of e-FX, alongside Peter Brooks.
With over 20 years’ experience in FX trading, liquidity management and relationship development, Wayne joins the firm from Shift Forex where he was Director of Liquidity Services. Previous tenures include an executive directorship at FX Pro (UK) and senior dealing and risk management roles at CMC Markets Plc.
The company also promoted long standing FX industry expert Michael Davies to Head of eFX Sales for the EMEA region, with Mr Davies, a widely recognized fountain of detailed FX industry knowledge, having been at the company for 14 years.
FinanceFeeds wishes Michael Bleys and David Fowler great success in their new roles.
