FCA urges disabling of access to Raid Forums

Posts on Raid Forums offer what appears to be FCA information for sale.

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has voiced its concerns about a website that claims to be offering FCA data for sale. The UK regulator today posted a warning about the Raid Forum website.

The FCA believes that this information has been improperly obtained from third parties. Based on the regulator’s detailed assessment, it believes that there has been no compromise of its systems or of data held by the FCA.

The FCA encourages all Internet Service Providers and operators of Browsers to disable access to the Raid Forum website. Consumers, regulated firms and individuals should ensure that they obtain FCA information from the FCA’s Register or other legitimate sources.

FinanceFeeds has detected offers for sale of FCA data through the website in question. We were greeted with a “Guest Alert” offering us to “join today to experience everything we have to offer, such as Leaks, Database Breaches…”. The post on the image below offers 12k lines of data purportedly leaked from the FCA.

An offer to buy data allegedly leaked from the FCA for 70$btc.

As comments in the thread reveal, the data is not leaked and does not constitute any breach of FCA’s systems. Rather, this is an attempt by certain individuals to abuse the FCA data which can be derived by manual search of the FCA register.
