Finalto recruits Antony Parsons as head of liquidity

Finalto, the financial trading division of Gopher Investments, is making a broader push into the liquidity provision space, culminating in a new appointment focused on expanding the business into new markets.

Today, Finalto has introduced its new Head of Liquidity, Antony Parsons. He is taking over from Andy Biggs, who was elevated to take an expanded role as the company’s new head of risk and trading.

Parsons is known for his depth of expertise in liquidity and market structure across Europe. He brings with him over sixteen years of experience in managing leading FX franchises in this highly complex ecosystem. Most recently, he was an eFX account executive at ADM Investor Services International Limited (ADMISI), a full service brokerage company in London. A previous five-year tenure with the same company had taken Parsons’ career between 2006 and 2011.

Parsons spent the bulk of his career at Sucden Financial, a derivatives broker operating in a broad range of markets, including exchange and OTC traded futures and options, equities, and foreign exchange. For more than a decade there, he worked his way up through several senior roles with the firm, having served as deputy head of EFX coverage.

The move to hire Parsons is clearly intended to boost bottom-line sales and expand the reach of Finalto’s operations as it continues to build market share.  The company has had its sights on growing its business in the aftermath of recent industry changes, and the liquidity provider has already opted to diversify its product range and clientele.

Commenting on his appointment, Parsons said: “I’m not surprised. Finalto has always been up there as one of the best Liquidity Providers.” He added that in his previous positions in the finance industry he was aware of Finalto’s positive reputation as a liquidity provider. The team have a got a great way of looking at the data, they look after everything very strategically”.

Matthew Maloney, Group CEO of Finalto, added: “We are delighted to welcome industry expert Anthony Parsons to the team. He will be instrumental in our efforts lead the market in what is best practise.”

The past few month has seen Finalto consistently focus on upgrading its offering, culminating in the winning of Best B2B Liquidity Provider (Prime of Prime) at FMLS22 Awards, just five months after bagging the same award at the Ultimate Fintech Awards in June.

Following a year of volatility in 2022, Parsons says there’s plenty of scope for more volatility as we move into 2023. He added: “The volatility may well continue, we will be focused on the central banks strategies to manage inflation and other global events – there’s lots of aspects still in play that can create volatility. Our job, then, is to work with our clients and liquidity providers to ensure our liquidity stays competitive.”
