FIS appoints Christopher Thompson as Chief Accounting Officer

Prior to joining Fidelity National Information Services, Mr Thompson served as the Chief Accounting Officer of Worldpay.

The Board of Directors of Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (NYSE:FIS) has appointed Christopher Thompson as the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer, a SEC filing says.

Mr Thompson served as the Chief Accounting Officer of Worldpay since 2014, and was the Senior Vice President and Controller of Worldpay from 2010 to 2014. Prior to joining Worldpay, he Thompson was a Partner at Deloitte and Touche LLP. Mr Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York and is a licensed certified public accountant.

Katy Thompson, former Chief Accounting Officer for the Company (and no relation to Christopher Thompson), will be assuming a new role with FIS as the Finance Operations Officer. In this role, Ms Thompson will lead the company’s shared financial services function for its day-to-day enterprise operations.

About a fortnight ago, FIS announced the closing of its acquisition of payments technology company Worldpay, Inc. The combined company is estimated to have over $12 billion in pro forma revenue and more than 55,000 employees.

Several former Worldpay executives will assume key leadership roles at FIS. Mark Heimbouch, former president and chief operating officer at Worldpay, is joining FIS as president of the company’s Merchant Solutions division. Stephanie Ferris, former chief financial officer at Worldpay, is joining FIS as its enterprise-wide chief operating officer. Charles Drucker, former executive chairman and chief executive officer at Worldpay, is joining the FIS board of directors as vice chairman. Key leaders from Worldpay will also remain with the company.
