GCEX hires American Express’ veteran Marilu Revelli as marketing director

GCEX, a digital asset and FX technology platform for institutional and professional clients, has appointed Marilu Revelli to the role of Marketing Director.

She will be working closely with Founder and CEO, Lars Holst CFA, Michael Aagaard, Managing Director GCEX Denmark and Mehtap Önder, Managing Director of Dubai on strategic growth plans for the organisation including developing presence in the Dubaiverse (The Sandbox).

Revelli lands at the FCA-regulated firm coming from Wigwam PR, where she worked as a Digital Marketing Consultant. She also held a short stint in a marketing role with technology provider Gold-i Ltd.

Revelli held a variety of marketing positions during her 10 years with American Express. During this long tenure, she worked his way up through several senior roles with the firm, culminating with the position of EMEA Marketing Director for bank partnerships. In this role, Marilu was responsible for strategic partnerships with Lloyds Banking Group and TSB to deliver integrated marketing campaigns including digital acquisition. For the corporate segment, she was tasked with launching B2B products and developing social media campaigns.

Per her LinkedIn profile, additional responsibility included developing the B2B and B2C value proposition, digital strategy, brand strategy, customer acquisition, portfolio management, loyalty programmes, new product development, customer insights, marketing effectiveness, research, and overall marketing analytics.

Announcing the new hire, Lars Holst, Founder and CEO of GCEX commented: “We are really excited to share that Maria Lopez (Marilu Revelli) is joining GCEX. Maria, former Marketing Director at American Express and with great experience in the Fintech industry, joins as Marketing Director of GCEX where she will be responsible for global marketing.”

GCEX was established in 2018 in order to cater to demand for regulated exposure to the crypto market. The company leverages its UK authorization to provide funds, brokers, asset managers, professional traders, and banks with compliant Fintech products, including AI applications. The offering also enables clients to automate on-boarding, offer and trade digital assets and forex with deep liquidity from top banks, as well as solutions for clearing.

GCEX (GC Exchange Limited) has four locations worldwide including Malaysia, Scotland, Denmark, and London, where it is headquartered. Its office in Copenhagen, which opened in September 2021, already has a team of six people.
