Gold-i announces promotion of Mark Alvarez to the management board

Gold-i, the fintech firm that designs tools and solutions for risk and liquidity management, has announced the promotion of Mark Alvarez-Buylla as Director of Operations.

With this promotion, he will be joining the CEO Tom Higgins, the CCO Julian Elliott, and the CTO Chris James on the management board of Gold-i, the company said.

Mark had joined Gold-i in 2018 as Project Co-Ordinator having worked in various roles over a period of 6 years prior to that, at Eze Software. He has helped in streamlining various processes, especially on the client onboarding side which had helped the company grow quickly over the years. He was promoted to Head of Operations in 2019, the company said.

Tom Higgins, CEO, Gold-i comments, “Mark is a huge asset to Gold-i and widely respected by our clients and the Gold-i team. Over the last three years, he has demonstrated exceptional management skills and high standards in client servicing. He embodies Gold-i’s core values – he is incredibly dedicated, has a strong work ethic, and also enjoys having fun.

“This is an ideal time for Mark to join the Management Board. The institutional market is key to the strategic direction of the company, with products such as the Gold-i Matrix and Crypto Switch 2.0™. Mark will be able to leverage his extensive experience in hedge fund technology provision and large-scale installations to help support our growth ambitions.”

Gold-i has been rapidly expanding its operations globally over the last few months with a specific focus in the Middle East and it has also been able to acquire some major clients. Its range of tools including the MT5 gateway, the MT4 Bridge, liquidity management platform, and MAM Pro for both MT4 and MT5 have been used by FX and other trading platforms across the world for many years now which has helped it to acquire a good brand name.

Mark Alvarez-Buylla adds, “I feel very privileged to be part of the Gold-i Management Board and to have the opportunity to play a more strategic role in the organisation. Gold-i is a great company to work for, with market-leading technology and a focus on continually evolving and pushing boundaries.”

The company would hope that rewarding people who have contributed to their growth would help it to give it the push as it looks to take on some stiff competition in the FX tools and risk management industry with the existing players consolidating their positions and new players also eyeing the market.
