Having joined IG Group’s Australian operations as Premium Client Manager in September 2013, this is Mr. Picken’s second promotion, the first being his promotion to Head of Premium Client Management in September 2015.

Before joining IG Group, Mr. Picken worked in Institutional Sales for the international and domestic markets at BBY Ltd in Australia and New Zealand between January 2011 and September 2013, a post preceded by two years at Singaporean futures broker Phillip Capital’s Australian division as Head of Wealth Management between 2009 and 2011.

Mr. Picken spent four years at now-defunct Sonray Capital Markets between 2005 and 2009, leaving the company one year before its high profile collapse in 2010 in which the company owed $46 million with owner Russell Andrew Johnson having been sentenced to 6 years in jail in 2014 as a result of being found guilty of fraud involving false accounting and the manipulation of 4,500 customer trading accounts.

Before joining Sonray Capital Markets, Mr. Picken was Equity Derivatives Sales Trader at MF Global in London for less than one year during 2005, a position preceded by two years at Phillip Capital in London as an Equity Derivatives Sales Trader.
