IG looks for a few clients to assist with feedback about new platform functionalities

It would also be a chance to talk directly to IG’s project managers and research team who deal with the IG product developers and designers on a daily basis.

Early this year, FinanceFeeds has reported about electronic trading firm IG Group Holdings plc (LON:IGG) enhancing its new web trading platform. The rollout of the new solution started in phases towards the end of 2016, with UK spreadbetting clients of the company getting access to the platform in January 2017.

IG has ever since been building up the capabilities of the platform. The broker is now asking its clients for some help with regard to new functionalities.

IG is looking for a few clients to assist in a feedback session relating to functionality on the new web trading platform. This is open to anyone who has an opinion on the desktop version of IG’s platform, whilst the session would have a focus on two specific functions.

  • New idea for the left hand fly out and questions relating to ‘Add to work space’
  • Switching between specific contracts – e.g. cash / futures etc.

The company would require 20 – 30 minutes of the volunteers’ time and would love to get this sorted next week if possible. If one trades multiple markets that would be a bonus. It would also be a chance to talk directly to IG’s project managers and research team who deal with the IG product development team and designers on a daily basis. Putting it otherwise, traders are set to have first hand information about the direction of the IG platform.

The recent wave of enhancements to IG’s new web trading platform have focused on its technical analysis capabilities. In May this year, for instance, IG introduced Fibonacci extensions to the new platform charts. Traders can access this feature from the drawing tools menu on the new charts. In July, the broker added an Elliott Waves tool to the new platform charts. It can be found in the drawing menu at the top of the chart, or by right-clicking on a chart. Traders can then pick five points on the chart to form the drawing.

The enhancements made in August concerned the most popular tech analysis indicator – the Moving Average. The platform enables traders to make use of up to eight Moving Averages. The feature, as the IG team notes, has been requested by a number of the platform users.
