IG platforms experience major outage

The problems lasted for more than an hour, affecting charts, web platform, mobile apps, and APIs.

Clients of online trading major IG had some rough time today, as they had to deal with a major outage affecting the services provided by the company.

The brokerage first confirmed that some of its clients were reporting issues with its platforms around 14.15 UTC. IG said it was investigating the issues at the highest priority.

The problems labelled as “major outage” plagued the work of various services, including IG’s web platform, mobile apps and APIs.

Around 15.27 UTC the company said it had managed to resolved the issues.

“We’re extremely sorry for the issues experienced earlier. Our services have resumed to normal and we are monitoring the status. Please logout and log back in”, IG said.

Despite IG’s assurances, messages about ongoing investigation of issues continue to appear on IG’s system status portal at the moment of publication of this article. The brokerage has not provided any details about the issues root cause.
