Kathleen DeRose brings extensive FinTech experience to the role as well as a strong background in asset management.

London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LON:LSE), or LSEG, has just announced the appointment of Professor Kathleen DeRose as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The appointment is effective immediately.

Donald Brydon, Chairman of London Stock Exchange Group plc, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Kathleen DeRose to the Board of LSEG. Kathleen brings extensive FinTech experience to the role as well as a strong background in asset management. Her understanding and knowledge of how global financial markets are adapting to new technology will be of great benefit to the Group as we continue to develop our business.”

Kathleen DeRose

Kathleen DeRose is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business leading the FinTech curriculum and a board member at Evolute AG, a Swiss wealth technology company. Prior to joining her current roles, she had a distinguished thirty-year career in global finance, including senior roles in asset management at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank.

The appointment of Kathleen DeRose is announced two weeks after LSEG announced the appointment of Donald (Don) Robert as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of LSEG, as of 1 January 2019. He will succeed Donald Brydon as Chairman of LSEG after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 1 May 2019.

Paul Heiden, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Nomination Committee for the Chairman search, said:

“We undertook a comprehensive global search to identify an individual to succeed Donald Brydon as Chairman. We are very pleased that Don Robert will join the Board and become Chairman of the Group next year. Don brings a strong track record in the global financial services sector and a deep understanding of technology, data and analytics that will greatly benefit our business as we continue to adapt to regulatory and technological change. He also brings to the Board significant FTSE 100 experience as a Chairman, Senior Independent and Non-Executive Director”.
