In line with previously announced plans, Monex-Saison-Vanguard Investment Partners, a subsidiary of Monex Group, Inc. (TYO:8698), and The Shizuoka Bank, Ltd., today launch a new robo-advisory service.

The new offering, named “SHIZUGIN Wrap (MSV LIFE)”, is a discretionary investment (Robo-Advisor) account service managed by Monex-Saison-Vanguard Investment Partners, Inc. This is an asset formation and management service that permits the account holder to pick the investment objectives, risk tolerance, investment amounts and target amounts. Then, the “Robo Advisor” included in the system performs investment judgments, trading, consultation, etc. in accordance with the customer’s needs.

The minimum investment amount is JPY1,000. The list of features includes:

  • Consistent support for customers to build and manage assets;
  • Ability to diversify one’s investment;
  • A selection of multiple types of investment services according to the customer’s asset management needs;
  • Monitoring the target achievement probability.

Monex-Saison-Vanguard Investment Partners, Inc. already offers a robo-advisory service to its clients – it launched a discretionary investment management service that uses Robo-advisors back in September 2016, aiming to help individuals design a life plan based on their own values and life styles by thoroughly supporting clients to develop and follow an asset management plan. Now, Shizuoka Bank has agreed to launch this service.

Both Monex and Shizuoka Bank have a strong record when it comes to implementation of novel technologies. In April this year, for instance, said it would conduct AI tests to enhance its corporate lending services.

Regarding Monex Group, let’s note that when it announced its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year to March 31, 2019, the brokerage said Monex Adviser, which was launched in October last year, has seen marked development. The investment balance is about JPY 1 billion as of June 30, 2018, compared to a balance of about JPY 780 million at March 31, 2018. Monex Adviser is a robot adviser service where customers can determine their own investment policy and easily manage their assets with the support of professional advice.
