A new widget called “Positions by Commodity” displays positions grouped by commodity with columns for each month/year contract.

Provider of high-performance trading, market data, and technical analysis tools CQG has announced the release of CQG Desktop Version 4.10, with a raft of updates aiming to improve users’ trading workflow.

Version 4.10 of the platform adds a new widget called “Positions by Commodity” which displays positions grouped by commodity with columns for each month/year contract. This makes it easy for curve traders or anyone holding positions for a commodity across different months to see their positions.

Further, traders can now recenter all HOTs quickly. Whenever traders have more than one HOT on a page, a button will appear in the left bar to center all of the HOTs on the page. Additionally, CTRL + click on any HOT reset button will reset all HOTs on the page.

In addition, traders can enter text to create a row as a separator to help visually separate symbols in the QSS and SST. When in symbol entry, use an apostrophe ‘ to tell the system you want to display text instead of a symbol. Then right-click and select a color to highlight the cell for additional highlight.

The preceding version of the platform also offered a raft of enhancements. For instance, when traders click in the Buy/Sell columns they can place orders in the HOT. Traders also gained the ability to modify order duration on working orders. That is, duration can now be changed in the Modify order dialog. In terms of charting, let’s note that the platform has added weighted calculation for Moving Average study. DMI with ADX study was also added.

Version (4.8) of the solution introduced enhancements to the Contract Specifications (CSPEC) widget, which provides detailed contract information for products in the futures, cash, currencies, indices, government reports, stocks, and fixed income markets. Maintenance margin has been added to the CSPEC widget as well as an MIC label to exchange to help with troubleshooting.

Version 4.7 of the platform included improvements to quotes and charting. For instance, traders got the ability to sort a QSS (Quote SpreadSheet) and SST by symbol. Like any of the other columns in QSS/SST, clicking on the column header will sort by that column. It is a 3-state toggle, so clicking on the column will toggle between ascending, descending, then back to manual sort.
