FP Markets announces Groundbreaking Sponsorship of ASM Academy

“Being supported by FP Markets means the world to me because if I did not have the financial backing that they give me, then I would not be able to play golf and travel around the country and go to various tournaments. Even turning professional now for me is the biggest step in my golfing career, so with all their support, it helps me a lot!” – Franklin Manchest

FP Markets, a market-leading and well-established global CFD and Forex provider with over 13 years industry experience, is delighted to announce a groundbreaking sponsorship of ASM Academy, Africa’s most progressive Golf Academy.

The sponsorship comes in light of the company’s strategic brand expansion to gain further global reach, inspiring traders and golfers alike to ‘be the best that they can be and invest in their dream.’ FP Markets’ support will empower ASM Academy to identify and nurture talent in South Africa and has already enabled local golfer, Franklin Manchest, to follow his dream of progressing from amateur player to professional golfer.

Franklin Manchest, a 20-year-old, from the Western Cape, is a direct beneficiary as he now has the support to enable him to pursue his life-long aspirations of becoming a professional golfer.

Manchest is signed to ASM Academy and is a product of the South African Golf Development Board having discovered the sport at the age of five in Rosemoor by collecting golf balls for local golf enthusiast and SAGDB coach, Joseph Booysen, who is now his great friend and mentor.

Due to FP Markets’ valuable support, Franklin is now in a good position to start the challenging process of making a successful transition from amateur to professional golfer. Franklin will have the opportunity to attempt to qualify for the Sunshine Tour via their Vusi Ngubeni Tour School and based on performances he will also be afforded the opportunity to attend the European and Asian Tour schools as he looks to grow and develop his career internationally.

This announcement takes place as FP Markets expands internationally and is seeking to be recognised globally, as they currently are in Australia, as the leading FX industry brand.

FP Markets has identified ASM Academy as a core component of its dedicated CSR programme and has elected to work with ASM Academy as its NPO/PBO partner (via its association with the Golf Pipeline) because it shares integral values in education, high performance and its client-orientated approach.

Craig Allison, Head of Global Development at FP Markets commented, “We are delighted to be working with ASM Academy which is an incredible initiative helping to grow the game and inspire a new generation of golfing talent in South Africa.

Working with ASM Academy was a natural choice for us as we are expanding into new international markets and we were attracted by the inherent
values in golf plus the exciting new angle in terms of introducing the unique qualities of our products. It has been a privilege meeting Franklin and seeing first-hand how our support will helphim pursue his golfing dreams and we look forward to facilitating many more inspirational stories in the future.”

Adam McKinlay, Founder and Performance Director of ASM Academy, said, “We are thrilled to be working with a global institution like FP Markets as we know that they are as passionate as us about education and putting their client’s needs first – we are very excited about the opportunities that this partnership will bring for our young golfers. One of our goals at ASM Academy is to grow the game and inspire a new generation of golfers from different backgrounds.

Seeing Franklin being given the opportunity to follow his dreams by embarking Vusi Ngubeni Tour School and other Tour School opportunities epitomises the first steps of this goal becoming a reality.

We want golf to be as accessible as possible to young people in South Africa, teach them values through the sport and with the support of FP Markets, we are now in a great position to discover Africa’s next golfinggreats and create role models to inspire a continent.”

Franklin Manchest said, “Being supported by FP Markets means the world to me because if I did not have the financial backing that they give me, then I would not be able to play golf and travel around the country and go to various tournaments. Even turning professional now for me is the biggest step in my golfing career, so with all their support, it helps me a lot!”

FIA urges CFTC to regulate use cases rather than AI itself

“We urge the CFTC to refrain from crafting new regulations that generally regulate AI because this approach presents certain well-known pitfalls. By approaching the issue from the perspective of AI as a technology, rather than the use case for the technology, corresponding regulations would likely necessitate a definition of AI. We anticipate that any attempt to properly define AI would be very challenging and require considerable resources.”
