Pepperstone a major sponsor of the “Biggest Ever Bloke’s Lunch” charity event

“We are thrilled to have been able to contribute to another successful event raising funds for research and of course, driving awareness amongst the 450 attendees” – Tamas Szabo, CEO, Pepperstone

Pepperstone is very proud to have sponsored Melbourne’s “Biggest Ever Bloke’s Lunch” event, a cause designed to educate men about prostate cancer through early detection and protection while raising support and investment into treatment research.

The fundraising lunch, one of many held around Australia, was made possible by a number of corporates including major sponsor, Pepperstone. The lunch raised more than $150,000 – a substantial amount for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Investigator Grant, supporting research into better treatment options for those impacted.

Tamas Szabo, CEO of Pepperstone publicly stated “We are thrilled to have been able to contribute to another successful event raising funds for research and of course, driving awareness amongst the 450 attendees.”

“Being a key sponsor of the Biggest Ever Bloke’s Lunch is one way we aim to give back as we grow and help foster a sense of community and purpose that aligns with our values and encourage all our team members to support causes that are important to them,” said Pepperstone’s spokesperson.

“One cause close to us all that we regularly support is Prostate Cancer awareness. Both Tamas Szabo, our CEO, and Meagan Wilson, our Group Head of Marketing are on the committee of the Biggest Ever Bloke’s Lunch, and together with the other members, did some fantastic work in bringing this event to life and raising money for research”

The Biggest Ever Bloke’s Lunch is the brainchild of the late Chris McPherson who found he had incurable prostate cancer and wanted to raise awareness amongst other men like him. It is a concept that has grown into the largest community fundraiser in Australia, raising funds solely for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Since its beginnings in Shepparton in 2009, a total of 39,000 people have attended lunches and more than $5.4 million has been raised for the cause.

These lunches, which are carried out across Australia, are now much anticipated, and although they are certainly lighthearted and enjoyable events, participants don’t lose sight of the reason they are coming together: the importance of prostate health and raising awareness and funds for PCFA programs, including the support of three Prostate Cancer Specialist nursing positions based in regional Victoria.
