North American multinational managed services and high speed connectivity provider Perseus today announces improvements to its network route between Chicago and Tokyo. Once the project is complete, Perseus will offer the lowest latency connectivity commercially available between the two markets.

Coined ‘Pacific Express’, the route is the result of optimizations on the existing fiber optic route, with an expected round trip latency below 120ms between CME Aurora and @Tokyo data centers, anticipated to be completed in February 2017. This strategic opportunity will be executed leveraging proprietary network assets and gives Perseus the exclusive rights to this route. In addition to network services, Perseus will also be able to deliver ultra low latency trans-Pacific market data and direct market access services to multiple liquidity centers in Asia including Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney and Mumbai.

“It is in the Perseus DNA to constantly innovate and optimize to meet our clients expectations with regard to latency, security and global product expansion,” said Jeff Mezger, VP of Product Management at Perseus. “As we have put great emphasis on growing our team and presence in Asia, we are excited to announce this milestone and continue to offer best-in-class service to our global clients.”

In addition to the route between Aurora and Tokyo, Perseus will also offer the fastest network connectivity between London and Tokyo, New York and Tokyo, Chicago and Shanghai, Chicago and Hong Kong as well as Chicago and Singapore. Perseus has significantly expanded its presence across Asia Pacific in 2015 and 2016, bringing on strategic hires to drive growth and provide on-the-ground support for continued product expansion in the region.

Time for brokers to add options trading as volumes explode on high volatility

“Usually, adding options to the typical CFDs and equities offering leads to fragmentation of the platform technology as many brokers will need additional back-end and front-end components, and that could be an important barrier for them.
