Jessica’s and Dr. Brummer’s experience and insights will be invaluable to the leadership team to scale the organization to its next level of growth.

Public.com has announced two new independent directors to its Board of Directors, Jessica Neal and Christopher J. Brummer, as the investing platform enters the next stage of growth.

In 2021, the fintech firm saw its community growing by more than 700%. At the same time, its staff tripled to ensure the organization matures at the same pace, thus scaling the best product experience for its users.

As part of that effort, Public.com hired two industry leaders that can bring the required experience and expertise to take the broker-dealer to the next level as it competes against market leaders such as Robinhood and E*TRADE.

Jessica Neal builts high performance teams for disruptive companies

Jessica Neal is a Venture Partner at TCV, a growth equity firm, after working at Netflix as Chief Talent Officer from 2017 to 2021 and VP Talent and Talent Acquisition from 2006 and 2013.

Past roles include VP Talent at Coursera and Chief People Officer at Scopely, but her 11 years at Neflix made a mark. She led people strategy and operations as she built high performance teams for disruptive and fast-growing companies.

“Developing and attracting talent is essential to delivering world-class products. Public.com is building something incredibly special on its mission to make the public markets work for all people, and I’m thrilled to join the Board of Directors as the company enters an exciting new chapter in its journey,” said Neal.

Christopher J. Brummer in Fannie Mae and crypto fund Paradigm

Christopher J. Brummer is Agnes N. Williams Research Professor at Georgetown Law, where he has lent his expertise to institutions and policymakers around the world grappling with emerging technologies, financial markets and economic inclusion.

He serves on the board of directors of Fannie Mae, and is Scholar in Residence and Senior Advisor to crypto investment fund Paradigm. He recently served as a member of the Biden-Harris Transition team, where he helped lead work streams for the Treasury Department review team on financial technology and racial equity.

“I’ve been following Public.com from the beginning, consistently inspired by their commitment to financial inclusion, and their willingness to take the hard decisions for achieving that mission. I look forward to working closely with them to continue to build upon their path-breaking work and success,” said Dr. Brummer.

Leif Abraham and Jannick Malling, co-CEOs at Public.com, said: Jessica’s and Dr. Brummer’s experience and insights will be invaluable to the leadership team to scale the organization to its next level of growth. We are incredibly grateful and honored to have them serve on the board and in extension, our members”.
