The company had recently completed a round of Series B funding for $31 million that was led by WisdomTree Investments, State Street, Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners Limited, and others and has been on a hiring spree since then as it quickly augments its management team to take on the challenges that a global expansion is likely to bring along.

Dan Doney, CEO of Securrency, said, “The expertise in financial operations and technology that MonaLisa and Bill bring to our team will be instrumental in advancing Securrency’s mission to optimize financial logistics and building on the strong foundations of its digital asset ecosystem moving forward. We are delighted to have these talented professionals step into important leadership roles within our company. At an enormously exciting time for Securrency, our new CCO and CTO will play critical roles in our success as we continue to transform the core of investment banking and financial markets worldwide.”

Como had worked with E*TRADE, TD Ameritrade, and Capital One Investing and had also run her own management consulting firm and hence brings in a wealth of experience in the trading industry along with a large network.

“Dan Doney and John Hensel deliberately built a dynamic team committed to disruption via scalable, borderless, compliant solutions.  I am thrilled to be a part of the Securrency team moving the dial on innovating financial markets infrastructure,” said Como.

On the other hand, Ashlock has prior experience working with Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, DBS, Bank of America, and other major financial services firms and brings in a lot of knowledge in the fintech industry as well as the blockchain and crypto domain which would be crucial for the company.

“The chance to join a winning team building the vital rails of the digital asset economy was one I could not pass up,” Ashlock affirms. “Leading Securrency’s technology strategy at this growth stage as we supercharge the development of the core platform and continue to expand our roster of world-class developers represents an amazing opportunity to be a part of a success story as it emerges.”

Securrency had also hired Reid McLaughlin, Securrency’s new Director of Data Analytics, Dennis O’Connell as Director of Blockchain & Innovation, and Jesse Guild appointed as Director of Customer Solutions in a push to enhance the management team before it embarks on a journey to expand the team in the US and Abu Dhabi as well as upgrade its products.

FIA urges CFTC to regulate use cases rather than AI itself

“We urge the CFTC to refrain from crafting new regulations that generally regulate AI because this approach presents certain well-known pitfalls. By approaching the issue from the perspective of AI as a technology, rather than the use case for the technology, corresponding regulations would likely necessitate a definition of AI. We anticipate that any attempt to properly define AI would be very challenging and require considerable resources.”
