Michael Jordan has announced the launch of a Web3 based fan engagement platform named HEIR along with his son Jeffery Jordan which will help the athletes stay in touch with their fans.

Fan engagement, collectibles, and NFTs are all tied together into an ecosystem, and going forward, in the coming months, we are likely to see several such fan engagement platforms being launched by sports and movie stars as well.

Fan Engagement Platforms

Such platforms would allow the stars to not only interact with their fans but also mint their tokens which the fans can purchase and keep as collectibles or support their stars and their various projects and initiatives. This would also give the users access to specific perks and if the star rises higher, then the associated token price could also rise higher which would again benefit those who have purchased the tokens.

The plans for the HEIR platform include the launch of HEIR tokens on the Solana blockchain and exclusive places for community building so that the star athletes can hold huddles with their fans and other such features. The platform is expected to be launched in 2022 and the parent company has received a funding of $10 million that was led by Thrive Capital and also has Solana Ventures as one of the investors.

Solana Looking to Breakout

This should be an interesting phase for Solana as it looks to establish itself as the go-to choice for NFTs and blockchain gaming. Uts high transaction speeds, as compared to Ethereum and other networks, place it in a prime position as this is going to be a very important factor for gaming and sports. But the network has also been proven to be unstable from time to time. The supporters of the network believe that this is only a temporary issue and something that will occur in a network that is less than 1 year old and also one that is still in beta.

Its detractors believe that with so many applications and projects being built on top of it, the stability of the network is going to be called into question repeatedly which is why Solana needs to sort out its network issues quickly so that it can improve on its reliability and then it would be able to attract more users and developers into the network.
