Paysafe, the company that runs the payment platforms skrill and NETELLER, has announced the integration of support fr buying and selling Solana on its platforms.

Users will now be able to buy SOL tokens (the native token for the Solana blockchain) using fiat directly on either of the 2 payment platforms and they can also set up automatic buying of these tokens at regular intervals. This has been made possible by the integration brought in by Paysafe and Solana will join the 37 other cryptocurrencies that can be bought and sold from within the platform and this list includes bitcoin, ethereum, uniswap, Chainlink, and others as well. Solana is one of the fastest-growing blockchain networks in the world and its speed and low gas fees have been major factors contributing to its increasing adoption by users and developers as well.

“Solana is a very exciting addition to our growing crypto offering for both Skrill and NETELLER,” said Jordan Stoev, Head of Crypto, Skrill, and NETELLER, at Paysafe. “Solana is growing at a rapid pace, not just in value but in developer attention and the variety of projects building on it. With its high performance and ecosystem support, we believe many of our users will be excited about the opportunity to buy and sell this currency.”

Users would also be able to set alerts to monitor specific price movements in SOL and other cryptocurrencies and this facility of buying and selling of cryptos are available across Europe, Asia, and Latin America while it is yet to be made available to the US. While Solana has been able to get a lot of traction, it did recently undergo a disruption in its services which led to its network not being available for around 18 hours. Though critics blamed it on the vulnerability of the network to crashes, it could be pointed that the main net on Solana is still in Beta and this is part of the growth pangs for the company.

Stoev added: “With the ongoing surge in interest that we’ve seen in cryptocurrencies over the last couple of years, and even more notably since the start of the pandemic, we are excited to launch new features for our service, like the addition of Solana. We are continually looking to provide our users around the world with better, new, and secure ways to interact with their money in a way that is convenient for them.”

Paysafe, like many other payment-related platforms, has been focussing its efforts on supporting cryptos as it has observed a surge in demand for crypto globally. The integration of Solana within the platform is expected to further boost its transaction volumes.
