Torstone appoints Neil Mardon as CFO to bolster post-trade SaaS platform’s expansion

Torstone Technology has appointed Neil Mardon as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help bolster the post-trade securities and derivatives processing platform’s expansion.

The seasoned financial industry executive, who will also be joining Torstone’s Board of Directors, previously served as CFO and later COO at Daiwa Capital Markets Europe, where he spent over a decade leading critical transformation initiatives.

As CFO and COO of Daiwa, his responsibilities included remediation of operational challenges, enhancement of the senior leadership team with a focus on diversity and inclusion, delivery of a significant cybersecurity change program, and management of the FCA Operational Resilience model changes.

The chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience brings significant strategic financial insight and knowledge to Torstone, including in-depth understanding of UK and EU regulatory environments.

Sam Farrell as Head of North America of Torstone

Earlier this year the firm welcomed Sam Farrell as Head of North America, reinforcing the company’s intent to scale its market presence and deliver exceptional post-trade solutions across the globe.

Sam Farrell is responsible for all the US and Canadian operations at Torstone and with the mission to expand the firm’s footprint in North America, further establishing the business as a key provider within the US and Canadian markets.

Based in Toronto, Sam Farrell joined Torstone after 35 years in Canadian financial services, having previously worked at RBC, TD Securities, Scotiabank, and most recently at Credit Suisse Canada as a senior operations leader. While at Credit Suisse, Sam Farrell was directly involved in the bank’s migration to Torstone’s Cloud Platform in 2020.
