TradeKing set to move to Ally this weekend

Maria Nikolova

The move, which is just days away, will see TradeKing Securities and TradeKing Advisors accounts transferred to ally.com.

Following FinanceFeeds’ report from last week about planned move of TradeKing to ally.com, there have been questions regarding the timing of this move.

The companies have specified that the transfer will be executed this weekend, that is, it is just several days away.

As a result of the change, TradeKing Securities and TradeKing Advisors accounts will be moved to ally.com. With the move, traders will see a number of changes, including getting access to their TradeKing account on ally.com and an updated mobile application for iOS and Android.

Over the weekend, traders should look for information on a dedicated page, as well as on TradeKing.com. They will also receive instructions by email on what they need to know and do to complete the move.

More than a year has passed since US financial services provider Ally Financial Inc (NYSE:ALLY) has agreed to acquire TradeKing, with the deal then valued at $275 million. As a part of Ally’s acquisition of TradeKing, TradeKing is about to be rebranded as Ally Invest. TradeKing Advisors will, in turn, be rebranded as Ally Invest Advisors and is set to offer professionally-managed portfolios via an automated online process.

Regarding the particular changes awaiting the owners of TradeKing and TradeKing Advisors accounts, the companies promise that the customers will find the features known from TradeKing, including the streaming platform, charts, and research tools on ally.com, where these will be integrated with banking features. Customers may also see a change to the name of the TradeKing API, but there are poised to be no changes to the data responses or request endpoints.

Let’s recall that, in August 2015, TradeKing agreed to acquire online brokerage MB Trading and the transfer to ally.com will also affect the clients using MB Trading products. These customers may see a name change, but there are set to be no functional changes to mbtrading.com or software. The existing usernames and passwords will continue to offer traders access to statements and account information at mbtrading.com.

Finally, concerning TradeKing Forex, which is an introducing broker to Gain Capital, the companies note that following TradeKing’s move to ally.com, customers will access TradeKing Forex at a new URL. There are also set to be some changes to the name and branding of the trading platform.
