Tradestation Securities launches micro futures contracts from Eurex
Eurex micro futures are at least ten times smaller than the regular products, giving trading participants the opportunity to hedge and gain exposure to the European benchmark indexes with low contract values.
TradeStation Securities, Inc. has launched micro futures contracts from Eurex, including Micro-DAX and Micro-EURO STOXX 50 futures.
The broker-dealer and futures commission merchant, part of Monex Group, is offering micro futures contracts via its desktop platform, web, and mobile applications, which include advanced visualization and analysis tools.
Eurex, a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse AG, is one of the largest futures and options markets in the world. All transactions executed on Eurex Exchange are cleared through Eurex Clearing, which functions as a central counterparty (CCP) for multi-asset class clearing of the above-mentioned exchange-traded product range as well as over-the-counter traded products.
John Bartleman, President of TradeStation Group, Inc., TradeStation’s parent company, said: “We’re proud to offer our futures customers new micro futures. In addition to competitive margin rates and commissions, customers will have expanded access to European markets and overnight liquidity.
“By supporting new products like Eurex micro futures contracts, we aim to set ourselves apart from many other platforms. TradeStation is among only a few U.S. brokerages supporting the Eurex micro futures contracts and we’re excited to help Eurex continue expanding into the U.S.”
Randolf Roth, member of the Eurex Executive Board, said: “The new contracts are the right size not only for investors and traders with smaller investment accounts, but also for institutions and professionals seeking to scale their equity index exposure and to hedge existing equity portfolio positions.”
TradeStation Securities is a registered futures commission merchant (FCM), and a member of major stocks, options, and futures exchanges in the United States (Member NYSE, FINRA, SIPC, NSCC, DTC, OCC, and CME).
