Truist Securities, full-service corporate and investment banking division of Truist Financial Corporation, has announced the appointment of Tom Hackett as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

The Atlanda-based executive has been serving as president and chief operating officer (COO) of Truist Securities for the last five years after having joined the firm in 2008.

At Truist Securities, Tom Hackett led the growth strategy with responsibilities over Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, M&A, Capital Markets, and Asset Finance. As President and CEO, he led a team that serves corporate clients with the full suite of capital markets, advisory, and traditional banking products and services.

Between 2008 and 2018, he played a number of roles at Truist Securities, including head of Investment Banking and head of Asset Finance, a role in which he led teams focused on Asset Securitization, Asset Based Lending, Structured Real Estate, Project Finance, and Equipment Finance.
