Bybit, the second-largest trading volume cryptocurrency exchange in the world, has stated that it has restored full access to its Bybit app on both the Google Play and the App Store to Indian users. This will be a significant milestone of the company towards the Indian market and an indication of their willingness to adhere to the regulations, security, and trust of the users. Bybit site access is being reinstated in stages and should be complete within 3-4 days.
The action follows a wider attempt to reach regulatory harmonisation in India. Bybit in January 2025 registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) as a reporting entity under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Such alignment makes its operation fully compliant with the Indian legal systems. It is based on this that Bybit can once again offer Indian traders a full spectrum of services, including Spot, Derivatives, Options and Copy Trading, backed by stringent KYC checks and enhanced security protocols.
Bybit was partially online again on February 25, 2025, after approved clients were able to fully trade again. Nevertheless, it took months of close cooperation with Indian authorities to become fully functional both the app and the site. Having finalized those regulatory discussions, Indian users are able to enjoy a hassle-free access to all Bybit platforms.
Commenting on the announcement, Ben Zhou, Co-founder and CEO of Bybit, said: “India is among the most promising digital asset markets globally. We are excited to resume normal business and reaffirm our devotion to delivering Indian users with secure, transparent, and world-class cryptocurrency experiences. It’s not a comeback, it’s a new chapter for Bybit in India.”
Vikas Gupta, Country Manager of Bybit India, added, “this is a milestone moment for Bybit India. We are thrilled to provide Indian users with a smooth and compliant trading experience. Our vision is not limited to trading. We are committed to building India’s rapidly expanding crypto ecosystem through mass education, strategic partnerships, and community-led initiatives.”
Bybit is also increasing its level of community interaction in India. India Blockchain Tour 2025, the first blockchain event hosted by the company as Title Sponsor began in Hyderabad on June 28 and will proceed with Metamorphosis – India Blockchain Tour in New Delhi on September 2728. Also, Bybit has recently introduced the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025, its international trading competition. The current year version incorporates Indian user centric campaigns, which include lucrative welcome bonuses, giveaways, and big prizes including cars, iPhones among others.
Bybit is strengthening its role as a compliance-driven, user-first exchange dedicated to furthering the role of India in the global digital asset economy as full access is restored. With strong regulatory convergence and targeted community efforts, the firm expects to not only increase the exposure to crypto trading, but also make contributions to financial inclusion and innovation in one of the rapidly developing markets in the world.
