First Derivatives Named AWS Advanced Consulting Partner
FD’s consultants assist customers in cloud transition capabilities for AWS, including application migration and modernization, managed services, and innovation with AI and ML.

First Derivatives has become an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner, according to an official announcement. The firm has more than 120 AWS certified consultants whose mission is to train up to 2,000 consultants.
AWS consultants help clients safely migrate their systems to the cloud. The certification only documents what is already known within the trading industry: First Derivatives’ expertise in supporting clients with their cloud-based digital transformation initiatives.
The firm has devised a strategy of enhancing knowledge and services offerings in the areas of compliance, data management, risk, regulatory reporting, trading technology, and Financial Services ISVs with cloud expertise. Being named Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner is evidence of its success.
David Collins, Managing Director at First Derivatives, said: “We are delighted to achieve the AWS Advanced Consulting Partner status. We leverage the power of AWS to help customers modernize processes and derive additional value from their data. We look forward to a continued strengthening of our relationship with AWS.”
With more than 20 years of experience working with some of the world’s largest players in finance, technology, and other sectors, FD’s KX service has become one of the favorite solutions for high-volume, data-intensive analytics, and applications across multiple industries. The firm has 15 offices across Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific region.
Its AWS consultants help deliver cloud transition capabilities in taking data-intensive applications and processes to the cloud, as well as managing a flexible hosting service automating operational and management tasks.
First Derivatives consultants are also specialized in leading the way in artificial intelligence and machine learning. They provide a sandbox for customers to explore these technologies safely.
In Q4 2020, the firm announced the appointment of former eBay CTO Steve Fisher as a Non-Executive Director of the Group. He will be assisting the expansion of the Kx streaming analytics platform into other industries adjacent to and outside of its capital markets heritage.
