Hashed Emergent is set to host a headline conference as part of a week-long series of web3-focused events in Bangalore, often referred to as the “Silicon Valley of the East.” The upcoming conference, India Blockchain Week (IBW), aims to establish itself as India’s premier multi-chain web3 conference with a comprehensive agenda spanning various industries. IBW and its associated events will showcase India’s growing influence in the web3 space, evident in the increasing adoption of cryptocurrencies and the emergence of innovative startups in the region.
Taking place from December 4-10, the week-long series of web3 events will kick off with a “warm-up” session on December 4-5, featuring hackathons, side events, and parties. The headline IBW conference is scheduled for December 6-7, followed by the highly anticipated ETHIndia hackathon. Last year, the ETHIndia hackathon attracted over 2,000 participants and witnessed the submission of more than 450 projects, solidifying its position as one of the largest Ethereum hackathons. The Sheraton Grand Hotel in Whitefield, a prominent IT and commercial hub in Bangalore, will serve as the main venue for the IBW conference.
IBW will feature a captivating lineup of speaker sessions, panel discussions, fireside chats, and moderated debates, with participants representing the entire blockchain industry spectrum. The agenda aims to encompass a wide range of topics, including technical advancements, investment opportunities, adoption and use cases, policy and regulations, as well as the intersection between web3 and emerging markets, with a particular focus on India’s unique web3 landscape.
MarketAcross, the world’s leading web3 PR and marketing agency renowned for their work with companies like Polygon and Hashed Emergent, will join the event as the global media lead. MarketAcross has previously served as the official media partner for various web3 events such as Korea Blockchain Week, WebX, Paris Blockchain Week, and IVS Kyoto.
India has rapidly emerged as a prominent adopter of web3, experiencing a 100-fold growth in on-chain value flows since 2019. According to Chainalysis’ “Geography of Crypto Adoption” report, India boasts the largest number of users across centralized and decentralized web3 finance venues. This growth has occurred despite regulatory challenges, with the Indian government historically maintaining scepticism towards cryptocurrencies but now aiming to establish globally harmonized regulations at the G20 Summit.
While the list of confirmed speakers has yet to be made public, IBW will feature renowned global and local leaders from the blockchain industry. Organized by Hashed Emergent, a subsidiary of Hashed, a prominent web3 venture fund based in South Korea, IBW follows in the footsteps of Factblock’s highly successful Korea Blockchain Week series of events.
“We are thrilled to bring India its first world-class, multi-chain web3 conference with a diverse range of participants from various industries,” commented Tak Lee, Managing Partner of Hashed Emergent. “Bangalore is a thriving startup hub, and Indian web3 startups have made a significant impact in the industry with their successful protocols and products. We believe that IBW will quickly become a premier gathering place for the crypto industry.”
