“We are excited to expand our ultra-low latency offering by enabling an end-to-end market data solution between U.S. and European markets, which is designed to improve the speed and access to international financial markets.”

Intercontinental Exchange has unveiled ambitious plans to offer ultra-low latency data services connecting markets in the United States and Europe.

This initiative marks a significant leap forward in optimizing cost and reducing latency for investors while expanding ICE’s Global Network to serve as a vital link between active marketplaces in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Bridging continents with speed

This groundbreaking trans-Atlantic data service establishes a crucial new avenue for traders and investors to access market data swiftly and efficiently.

By connecting key financial hubs such as London, Frankfurt, and Bergamo with major U.S. markets, ICE is making strides in improving the speed and access to international financial markets.

Margaret Niche, Head of ICE Global Network, said: “We are excited to expand our ultra-low latency offering by enabling an end-to-end market data solution between U.S. and European markets, which is designed to improve the speed and access to international financial markets.”

Comprehensive connectivity

The trans-Atlantic data service combines wireless networks on both sides of the Atlantic with high-speed transatlantic fiber connections, carefully engineered to minimize latency.

This innovative solution streamlines the process for market participants, enabling them to work with a single vendor for a global end-to-end market data solution. This holistic approach is poised to simplify operational challenges associated with building and supporting such solutions, offering a seamless experience for customers.

The initial route for this service will carry critical market data eastbound from Illinois to various locations across the London Metro Area, including Frankfurt and Bergamo. Additionally, ICE is planning to introduce more hybrid routes connecting Europe and the U.S., catering to both eastbound and westbound traffic.

ICE Global Network: A Resilient Backbone

ICE Global Network is an integral part of ICE Data Services’ connectivity offering, which delivers high-quality content, delivery, and execution services through an ultra-secure and highly resilient network.

Specifically engineered for capital markets, ICE Global Network’s ultra-low latency wireless routes facilitate the swift and efficient delivery of raw market data from essential liquidity venues across the globe.

Intercontinental Exchange’s expansion into the ultra-low latency data service arena between the United States and Europe represents a pivotal development in the world of financial markets. By offering a streamlined, efficient, and highly resilient network, ICE is poised to provide market participants with the tools they need to navigate and capitalize on opportunities across international markets.
