“I look forward to working with the passionate team in London and across the organization. It very much feels like coming home, and I’m excited for the journey ahead of us.”

Andrew Bresler appointed CEO of Saxo UK

Saxo has appointed Andrew Bresler as CEO of Saxo UK, taking over from interim CEO Simon Camilleri.

The FCA-regulated brokerage firm is welcoming back Andrew Brasler after three years at Citi as Regional Head – Brokerage, Portfolio Finance & Digital Investments – APAC & EMEA, and nearly three years at InvestCloud with relevant APAC roles such as Chief Revenue Officer.

From 2016 to 2018, Andrew Bresler was a key member of Saxo’s APAC leadership team and Deputy Head of Sales Trading in Singapore.  His strategic focus on growing the bank’s client base in APAC during this time highlights his deep understanding of Saxo’s products, platforms, and services.

Andrew Bresler now returns to Saxo, where he will lead the UK entity which operates in London since 2006 and is a provider of multi-asset trading and investment services.

“It very much feels like coming home”

Stig Christensen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saxo, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew as the new CEO of Saxo Markets UK Ltd. He is not only a seasoned leader, but also a great team player with a deep understanding of our industry, products, platforms, and clients. The combined strengths of our leadership team, the employees in the UK, and Andrew’s capabilities, give me great confidence in the future success of our UK business, where we have ambitious growth plans.”

Andrew Bresler, the new CEO of Saxo UK, said: “It’s a huge honor to take on the role of CEO at Saxo Markets UK Ltd. As one of the largest markets for the financial services industry globally, the UK offers an enormous opportunity to grow the Saxo brand. Saxo UK is well positioned to capture this opportunity thanks to our broad – and expanding – product suite, and competitive pricing which was rolled out earlier this year. Coupled with the robust regulatory foundation which the team have built, I have full confidence that we can realize the business’ full potential together. I look forward to working with the passionate team in London and across the organization. It very much feels like coming home, and I’m excited for the journey ahead of us.”

Saxo Markets UK Ltd., the UK subsidiary of Saxo Bank A/S, parted ways earlier this year with its long-serving chief executive Charlie White-Thomson. White-Thomson has nearly three decades of experience in financial services, including both developed and emerging equity markets. Having served in several senior management positions, he joined the Danish forex bank in 2019 as non-executive director to its board. During a five-year tenure, he held key roles, culminating with the position of Saxo Markets UK’s CEO in October 2020.
