Web3 game developer N3twork Studios hires ex-Tinder CPO Josh Sell

Rick Steves

“Josh is a world-class product executive who brings a ton of Web2 and Web3 gaming experience to N3twork Studios. With Josh on board, we’ll be able to take our two upcoming titles to the next level, particularly as we move into live operations on both in 2023.”

N3twork Studios has appointed Josh Sell as Chief Operating Officer of the blockchain games developer and publisher.

Josh Sell joins N3twork Studios after making a name for himself as Chief Product Officer at Tinder. Now, he joins veteran game developers who were previously at EA, Kabam, Zynga, Glu, and Disney.

Josh Sell to play leading role in Legendary: Heroes Unchained and Triumph

The new Chief Operating Officer will help N3twork Studio’s team to accelerate the development of its upcoming Web3 RPGs, Legendary: Heroes Unchained and Triumph, both of which are slated for worldwide release in 2023.

In addition to playing a leading role in developing Legendary: Heroes Unchained and Triumph, Josh will also support N3twork Studios President Matt Richetti in running the studio’s day-to-day operations.

Josh Sell, Chief Operating Officer at N3twork Studios, said: “Web3 fundamentally changes how gamers can take ownership of their experience, both through the freedom of open economies and through the ability to influence development. Developers in the Web3 space have already learned a lot, and the next generation of titles will offer a deeper, more engaging experience on a level playing field to AAA games.

“What attracted me to N3twork Studios was a combination of talented people, awesome products, and a clear opportunity to make an impact. The folks I met with prior to joining were all intrinsically motivated by consumer experience. Their views lined up perfectly with my own around how Web3 can drive genuine and sustained player benefit. I also got my hands on the product(s) before joining and loved them; there’s a huge opportunity for success here.”

Matt Ricchetti, President of N3twork Studios, commented: “Josh is a world-class product executive who brings a ton of Web2 and Web3 gaming experience to N3twork Studios. With Josh on board, we’ll be able to take our two upcoming titles to the next level, particularly as we move into live operations on both in 2023.”

Josh Sell oversaw development of ‘Explore Tab’ at Tinder

At Tinder, Josh Sell oversaw a wealth of releases, perhaps most notably the ‘Explore Tab’ that introduced a whole new way for singles around the world to find matches.

In the gaming sector, Josh previously held a similar product leadership role at Glu Mobile, where he led the development of the popular Deer Hunter franchise, reviving the game at a time when its popularity was dwindling and transforming it into one of the industry’s top-grossing hits. He has also served as Vice President and General Manager at King, where he ran the Farm Heroes franchise; and was GM of Mobile for NCSoft.

Josh Sell joins N3twork Studios from Web3 gaming startup Midnight, his most recent endeavor co-founded by him and where he pioneered that company’s interoperability strategy.
